Since day one,our mission has been:to lead people to Jesus.
God desires that you would know Him and live the full, purpose-filled life He created for you.
Our values reveal our heart and the unique convictions God has laid upon this faith community.
Belong Before You Believe
The local church isn’t just for “some people,” it’s for everyONE. Jesus is on an endless pursuit after the one — He even tells us there is more joy in heaven over one lost sinner who repents than over ninety-nine righteous people who haven’t strayed away. His Church should follow His lead. At Grumlaw you can belong before you believe: come explore, learn more about your risen Saviour, and take your next step toward Jesus.
Watch MessageWe Uphold Biblical Truth
The Bible isn’t a version of truth, it is THE truth — the unchanging, inerrant word of God. We don’t uphold portions of Scripture, we believe and embrace all of Scripture, even the parts that don’t sit well with us. We don’t approach Scripture with our own ideas and preconceived notions; we allow Scripture to shape our thoughts and convictions.
Watch MessageContagious Joy
Pursuing Jesus isn’t a drag or an “I have to” — it’s the greatest joy we can experience in this life and an “I get to!” Around here, the joy of the Lord is our strength. Anyone should walk through the doors of Grumlaw and think “I want whatever they have.”
Watch MessageLive Generously
We never look more like Jesus than when we are being generous — with our time, talents and treasure. In a world that screams “keep everything for yourself,” Jesus teaches the complete opposite. We will strive to be a community that is known, first and foremost, by our generosity.
Watch MessageWe Expect God To Move
The Holy Spirit is real and lives within the follower of Jesus; prayer is effective and speaks to God’s heart. We will spend our limited time on this earth with an eager and certain expectation, trusting in the God who goes before us, with us, and after us.
Watch MessageAssume The Best
Rather than being quick to jump to the negative or pointing out faults in others, we will assume the best in people. We will cling to the positive rather than the negative. When we do this, we model what Christ did for every one of us.
Watch MessageObedience Is The Win
The next step for each follower of Jesus will likely be different. We will be careful not to elevate one step of obedience over another; instead we celebrate when any step is taken. How do we measure success? By looking around and observing sheep taking their next step toward their shepherd.
Watch Message
The Grumlaw Seven is our strategy. It helps us measure how we’re doing and keeps us on track toward our mission.
Weekends
Attend weekly services and begin exploring who God is, experiencing His presence, and taking your next step toward Him.
Baptism
Once you put your faith in Jesus, it’s time to go public with that decision through water baptism.
Serve
God calls us to be generous not only with our finances, but with our time, gifts and everyday lives.
Daily Encounter
God desires a personal relationship with you, and that grows through daily time spent with Him.
Generosity
Everything we have comes from God, and we joyfully give back to help build the Church and reach people.
Groups
Life is not meant to be lived alone, which is why Connect Groups help us grow in faith and community.
Share
God calls every follower of Jesus to share His life-changing message with the people around them every day.
What we believe shapes our faith and the unshakable foundation God has built beneath this community.
God
We believe in one God who exists in three distinct persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Jesus Christ is the second member of the Trinity and the Son of God — He became flesh to reveal God to humanity and to save us.
Psalm 90:2 · Genesis 1:1, 1:26–27 · Colossians 1:16 · John 1:1–5, 16:13 · Hebrews 4:14 · 1 Corinthians 15:3–4Humanity
All people were created in the image of God and designed to have relationship with Him. All have sinned and ruined that relationship, and through our own efforts we are incapable of mending it.
Genesis 1:27 · Genesis 3:6 · Isaiah 59:1–2 · Romans 3:23The Bible
The entire Bible is the inspired Word of God without error, because the writers were moved by the Spirit of God. It is the only book with the power to transform lives.
Hebrews 4:12 · 2 Timothy 3:16 · 2 Peter 1:20–21 · Psalm 119:105 · Proverbs 30:5Salvation
The sacrifice of Jesus Christ provides the sole basis for the forgiveness of sin. God freely offers salvation to those who place their faith in the death and resurrection of Christ as payment for their sin.
John 1:12, 3:16, 14:6 · Romans 6:23 · Ephesians 2:8–10 · Titus 3:5 · Galatians 3:26Baptism
Baptism is an outward expression of an inward commitment — a declaration to the world that we have received salvation through Jesus, symbolising His death, burial and resurrection.
Colossians 2:12 · Matthew 28:19–20 · Mark 16:16 · Acts 16:31–33Christian Life
All Jesus followers should live a life for Jesus, not themselves. This occurs through obedience to the Word of God and daily submission to the Holy Spirit.
Romans 12:2 · Colossians 3:5–10 · 2 Corinthians 5:17 · Matthew 7:21–23 · James 1:22–27The Church
The Church is the body of Christ, of which Jesus is the head. Its members are those who have placed their faith in Jesus Christ, and its purpose is to glorify God and make Him known throughout the world.
Matthew 16:18–19 · 1 Corinthians 12:12–14 · Acts 2:41–47 · Ephesians 1:22–23
